Having a plan is essential when going into a job. Understanding what fixtures are required and the location for them is important in delivering what the customer wants. This ebook will take you through some of the fundamentals examples of plans and the symbols used in design.

Plumbing Symbols
There are lots of symbols used to describe the different types of fittings and function of plumbing diagrams. When viewing a diagram look for the Legend or Key that describes the symbol. Take note of the colour of lines and the direction of flow.

Sectional Drawing
A 'section drawing', 'section' or 'sectional drawing' shows a view of a structure as though it had been sliced in half or cut along an imaginary plane.
