BM5213 Introduction to e-Business

Aim

To introduce students to the fundamental principles and management of e‐Business and e‐Commerce, the underlying technologies with emphasis on Internet Technologies, and the application of tools and services to the development of e-Business. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course the student will be able to:

1. Examine the impact of Information and Communication technologies in contemporary business operations in an online environment

2. Demonstrate the fundamental principles of e‐Business and  e-Commerce 

3. Distinguish the role of Management in the context of e‐Business and  e-Commerce  using relevant examples

4. Identify and analyse the added value, risks and barriers in the adoption of e‐Business and e-Commerce 

5. Examine applications of e‐Business and e-Commerce platforms in relation to an existing organisation setting

6. Apply tools and techniques from the internet in the development of a new or modification of an existing e-Business Infrastructure.
